RK Law – taking pro-bono work across the Pacific
Principal Lawyer Rowan King has returned from his third volunteer trip to Papua New Guinea, where he supports iCare4U—an organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for people who are marginalised and are living with the effects of HIV.
Over the past three years, the iCare4U team has built infrastructure and created safe spaces in Port Moresby, including the construction of a football field that recently hosted a week-long rugby league carnival. As well as being handy with a spade, Rowan assists the team with legal administration and compliance matters.
Rowan hopes his story encourages others in the legal profession to find ways to serve beyond the courtroom through pro bono work, community engagement, or even international outreach.
